Allan Chaney returns to the court

You may remember Allan Chaney, the former 2008 Register All-State selection from New London High.

He originally started his collegiate career at the University of Florida. Then he transferred to Virginia Tech.

Right after sitting out a year due to transfer, he passed out on two separate occasions in a four-month stretch in 2010 while practicing on the court. He was told he would never play again after a heart condition was discovered.

But here Chaney is, now suiting up for High Point University when play begins this week - more than three years after his last collegiate appearance at Florida.

Two great pieces I have read on Chaney, one released today by Jeff Goodman from CBSSports.com, another I read a couple of months ago by Connor Letourneau of the Baltimore Sun. Two pieces worth your time to read.

I wish Chaney, who now lives in Baltimore, well and good health as he attempts his comeback.
