Papale signs to play at BU

Choate's John Papale signed a national letter of intent Saturday to play basketball at Boston University. Papale, a Wallingford resident, orally committed to the Terriers back in August.

Parker to sign on Friday

According to head coach Vito Montelli, St. Joseph senior forward Timajh Parker will sign his national letter of intent on Friday afternoon to play basketball at Towson next season. Pwrker was a Register All-State selection last season.

Notre Dame-WH hosts pre-season basketball warmup clinic

Notre Dame-West Haven head basketball coach Gary Palladino will host a pre-season basketball clinic Nov. 15-17 at the Notre Dame Gymnasium.
The clinic is open to boys and girls ages 12-16 and will run each night from 6-8 p.m. The clinic will focus on basketball fundamentals such as ball-handling drills, shooting stations, defensive drills, rebounding, offensive teamwork and games.

NBA stars coming to Bridgeport Nov. 18

The NBA may be in a lockout, but players are scheduled to come play in what is being billed the I-95 Pro Jam Nov. 18 at Webster Bank Arena, formerly Harbor Yard, in Bridgeport at 7:30 p.m.

Scheduled to play for the I-95 North team are former UConn stars Rudy Gay (Memphis Grizzlies) and Hasheem Thabeet (Houston Rockets), along with Ryan Gomes (LA Clippers), Wes Matthews Jr. (Portland Trail Blazers) and former University of Maryland and Torington High standout Jordan Williams (New Jersey Nets).

Scheduled to play for the I-95 South team is John Wall (Washington Wizards), DeMarcus Cousins (Sacramento Kings), Tarik Evans (Kings), Jeff Green (Boston Celtics), Sam Young (Grizzlies) and Nolan Smith (Portland Trail Blazers).
