Scrivines resigns at Derby
Dave Scrivines said an email Tuesday that he has resigned as Derby's head boys' basketball coach after just two seasons. The Red Raiders won three of their last four games to finish 4-16 in the Naugatuck Valley League this year.
"I am proud to leave the program in better shape then when I inherited it. We have incorporated the feeder program, won some league games for the first times in atleast four years and developed a solid base for next year's team to have success ... including in the post-season," Scrivines said in the email.
Scrivines previously coached at Platt Tech and Wilton.
This is the first coach to resign from the area. The only coaching position open on the CIAC website is at Hale-Ray.
