Carolina to be named Hillhouse High principal
Kermit Carolina will become the next principal at Hillhouse High School, two sources have told the Register. It will become official at Monday night's Board of Education meeting.
It is very likely Carolina, 42, has coached his final boys' basketball game at the school. He won a pair of state championships (2006 and 2007) with the Academics in seven seasons. His last game was a loss in the Class LL championship final to Bridgeport Central last March.
So who will be his successor? Carolina will likely endorse someone from his staff, either Renard Sutton or Tyrese Sullivan, a former Register All-Area MVP from the school. But the job will have to be opened to all qualified candidates.
And seeing how the last process went when Anthony Hill was named at Wilbur Cross in 2008, a successor probably will not be named until September at the earliest.
