Notre Dame clinches SCC Quinnipiac
Notre Dame won the SCC Quinnipiac Division for the first time in school history Friday night, beating Fairfield Prep 72-56 at home. The Green Knights did so without Quenten Howard, its leading scorer and rebounder, who is out for the season after having foot surgery.
Brian Salzillo poured in 31 points as North Haven won at Career 68-49. That puts Career one game behind Wilbur Cross going into its showdown on Tuesday night at the New Haven Athletic Center. Career can earn a tie for the division crown with a win, but in essence, would be the division champion for beating Cross twice.
Hillhouse, which already clinched the SCC Hammonasset, won at Xavier 64-58.
Sheehan had Friday off and will clinch the SCC Housatonic on Tuesday if it can win at Lyman Hall.
Abbott Tech and Stratford remained undefeated with wins over Platt Tech and Brookfield, respectively.
