CIAC schedules released

The CIAC released their basketball schedules this morning.

A thumbnail look at what we have to look forward to when the season tips off on Dec. 12:

Hillhouse and Wilbur Cross continue to play each other in December. At the present moment, the game is scheduled for the first week, Dec. 14 to be exact, at Cross. Stay tuned, this game could be moved to the New Haven Athletic Center.

Hillhouse currently has 19 games on its schedule, including Career and Cross twice. All ames are in the Southern Connecticut Conference. Will the Academics be able to fill that 20th game? Time will tell.

Career also has 19 games, including one outside the SCC: against Capital Prep at Weaver in what I presume will be part of the Doc Hurley Classic on Dec. 15. It's a chance for the New Haven faithful to check out Capital Prep dynamite guard Khalil Dukes, who has orally committed to Southern Cal.

According to Crosby's schedule, the Bulldogs are playing Harding on Dec. 27 at Hamden High. But the game is not listed on Harding's schedule. Stay tuned for this one, but my guess is this will be a matchup in the Vanguard Classic.

Interestingly, Wilbur Cross' one non-conference game is at home against Hartford Public on Dec. 27. I think this will end up as part of the Vanguard Classic. Your guess is as good as mine to the other matchups and where it will be held.

There will be more to come as the schedules become truly finalized...
