Tuesday roundup

With yet another snowstorm on the horizon for tonight...Milford chooses to postpone its athletic events from Tuesday to Wednesday. Why postpone in the first place? Tuesday's brief snow was done by early afternoon and Milford had a delayed opening.
So if the games can get in, Hand at Law at 5:15 p.m. and Hillhouse at Foran at 7.

As far as Tuesday's action...

Fairfield Prep broke its three-game losing streak, beating Xavier for the second time. The two teams are tied atop the SCC Quinnipiac Division.

Lyman Hall won its second straight game after a 10 day layoff, beating Cheshire to take hold of the SCC Housatonic. Career and Cross both won its games over North Haven and East Haven, respectively. Career owns a one-game lead over Cross in the SCC Oronoque.

Looking back on Monday's action, New London showed why it is the state's top team, hammering Hartford Public 85-59 at home. No team in the ECC will beat New London, which means the Whalers will remain No. 1 heading into the state tournament.

No. 2 Northwest Catholic is, like New London, in Class L. That could set a dream matchup in the final at the Mohegan Sun.

But like the title of this blog says, we have plenty of more running to get to the Sun in March.

Of course, if it keeps snowing, the finals might be ppd. until April. Stay tuned!!!!
