Choate lands trio
Three members of the Register's All-State First Team are headed to Choate in Wallingford this fall:
Brandon Sherrod of Stratford, a 6-5 center and the Register's State Player of the Year
DeShawn Murphy of Hyde, a 6-5 combo guard
Phil Gaetano of Sheehan, a 5-10 point guard
Also, all three players led their respective teams to state championships this year in the Class L, S and M divisions, respectively.
In other news, Quenten Howard, Notre Dame-West Haven's leading scorer and rebounder before breaking his foot midway through the season will play next season at Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY.
