Branford improved to 7-1 by winning at North Haven 45-35. North Haven has dropped all three games in the SCC Oronoque Division (the other two to Wilbur Cross) yet won all of its other games in the SCC.

Speaking of  Cross, the Govs walloped East Haven 93-53 in Jim Reynolds return to Cross after a 14-year stay that ended in 2008.

Notre Dame beat Hand 60-53 as the mentor (Gary Palladino) downed the former pupil (Frank Rossi), the first time Palladino has coached against one of his former players or coaches.

In other action, Xavier beat West Haven 67-48 and Hillhouse dismantled 94-46, setting up an undefeated matchup between the two schools on Thursday at 6 p.m. at the New Haven Athletic Center.
